The lesson learnt from the story of ' The Necklace' by Guy de Maupassant is that a
person should be satisfied and grateful for the things that they have.
The story ' The Necklace' revolves around a woman who is not happy with
the earnings that his husband makes and always wants more. She is never happy
with her husband. To make her happy, her husband gives her an invitation to a
fancy party but she is annoyed that she has nothing good to wear to the party.
After spending a lot of money, her husband brings her a dress and the woman is now
unhappy as she does not has jewelry to wear to the party. She borrows a necklace
from a well-to-do friend family. However, she loses the necklace after the party
and has to cut off even her basic daily needs to fulfill the loss.

Hence, we learn that a person should be satisfied with the things that he has.
We should not try to impress others with things that are not in our possession.
As the saying 'all that glitters is not gold', one should not judge another person
by their appearance as appearance can often be fake.
